What does the bible have to say about Tuesday's tragedy? How can we as Christians help others understand why God would allow this to happen?

Below are a few scriptures to help not only those who do not know the Lord to understand, but for some of us with lingering questions, doubts or fears concerning our faith.

This is a time for the unsaved to come to know their Savior!

For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
Matthew 16:26

And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
Matthew 10:28

Should we be surprised that our nation is being victimized by terrorism? No. The Bible predicted that a time would come when we would see...

Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
Luke 21:26

Terrorism, crime, child abuse, drug abuse, homosexuality, drunkenness, amd other violations of God's laws are only symptoms of the sinfulness of the human race and proof that we need a saviour to save us from our sins, a saviour who is capable of giving us a new heart!

And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh: That they may walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God.
Ezekiel 11:19-20

In spite of what many false teachers say about how people are basically good, God has a far different opinion of us.

But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.
Isaiah 64:6

Continue to pray for the families who are grieving and for those who are suddenly seeking answers to questions that leave cold, empty void in the hearts of those who have not found a faith in Jesus yet.

Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation."
